Why we exist
We exist to help people in our community to KNOW Jesus, GROW up in Jesus; and GO out for Jesus. We accomplish this by creating a caring community where love and acceptance are experienced, grace is received, hope is renewed, and mission is unleashed.
To KNOW Jesus is the process of meeting an unchurched person where they are and helping them take the steps necessary to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus.
To GROW up in Jesus is the process whereby we come alongside a new Christian and provide them with the teaching and tools necessary to grow to maturity in the Christian faith.
To GO out for Jesus means that we are deployed into the world to use our gifts, talents and abilities to serve others in the name of Jesus.
History
In 1913 when a young man, Willy Whelan, went to Anderson, Indiana and met with a group of the Church of God Reformation Movement officials. During that meeting, he was saved and came home to tell his uncle, J. P. Wilson. Soon after, J. P. Wilson gave his heart to the Lord. They began worshiping in Lexington with a group on Ohio Street. Over 100 years and 3 locations later, we continue to gather as family each week to worship Jesus and serve others.
